This Scholarship Fund is named in memory of Puan Sri Tay Siew Phung, whose kindness, loving compassion and selflessness have touched many around her. She led a simple and humble life, throughout which her deep concern for the less fortunate motivated her to give and help wherever possible. Her generosity drew respect from the community, especially in her own neighborhood, which she loved fondly. This scholarship is in honor of the life of a very special mother and woman of God who lived an exemplary life, fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. Her kindness has impacted many lives, and will hopefully continue to impact many more through this fund.

Evaluation Criteria

All students aged 12 to 17 years old from any country can apply (the equivalent of middle and high school students). However, in the event we receive too many applications, we will apply the following criteria.

Scholarships FAQ

May I apply even if I don't have financial need?

We wouldn’t advise you to. We operate on an honor system and would like for the scholarships to go to genuinely needy students.

Is there a deadline ?

No, we will disburse scholarships on a rolling basis. As soon as we find a suitable student, we will give the scholarship to them.

Is there anY advantage to applying early ?

Yes, there is. All else being equal, we will give the scholarships on a first-come, first-served basis. Thus, we strongly encourage you to apply early.

I'm a parent. Can I submit an application on behalf of my child ?

Yes, of course, as long as you have financial need. However, you must make sure your child does attend, so as not to waste the space.
